On this side of the fence,
Imprisoning a hope.
Fighting a war, together.
Running, freezing time.
The sun wants to sleep,
The last of the ray.
Skate on the silver skin.
The other side wails,
Bewildering the thread of time.
Tempts to break off the running.
Shouts back and swirls,
Gleefully placate the wails.
Ceasing, time melts away.

How far?

How far we have come?
Crossing the frozen river,
Melting away.
To reach the seashore.
Making way along the hedgerow,
Looking back
Standing on a rock.
Dreaming of the sea,
Filled with the frozen river
Our feet sink in the sand.
How far shall we go?
